VULKAN MAG FEB 2017
CROWBAR GOLD AWARD 2016 FOR FASHION & PORTRAITURE Ambivalence; A study and interpretation of how renowned contemporary renaissance painters, such as Caravaggio, Botticelli, Giorgione, and Vermeer, portrayed the many subjects and objects within their painting. Using fashion photography as a medium to explore how every element interacts, complimentary and contradictory natures are intertwined to create an intentional visual paradox, challenging viewers to find the subversive message of each piece.
FOLIE A DEUX
Folie a Deux; an interpretation of a delusion and mental illness shared between two people in close association. Influenced by the works of Balthus, Egon Schiele and Edward Hopper, this series explores the seemingly impossible relationship of two siblings- a psychopath and sociopath. The ensuing imagery studies the shared psychosis of the sisters and how the relation of proximity and madness triggers or influences the severity of the madness through photographic compositional depth, distance, light and shade.
TOKSICK MAG JAN 2017
An editorial series based on the theatrical arts, loosely inspired by the many works of Shakespeare. Each image loosely represents a tragedy that was touched on in his plays.
Inspired by Wong Kar Wai's colour grading.
